Personal Information
- I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and attended Catholic elementary
school and high school.
- I earned a B.S. in mathematics from the
University of Dayton May 2000.
- In 2005, I earned my PhD in
mathematics at the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. My main interest is commutative
algebra, specifically characteristic p methods, tight closure theory,
and big Cohen-Macaulay algebras.
My thesis advisor was
Mel Hochster.
- I spent the 2005 - 2006 academic year as a postdoctoral
assistant professor at the
University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK.
- I have been married since 2001 and have five children.
My wife has a PhD in chemistry
from the University of Michigan.
